What can I do for you?
My kind of therapy
This page provides a straight-forward and (hopefully) accessible and clear explanation of what we can/will work on during our counselling sessions, and how it might help you. If you need a more in-depth, theory specific description of my therapeutic modality (for example, if you are a counselling student or experienced practitioner searching for personal or course compatibility) please click here.
Put simply...
Person-centered Support

You are the professional on you and in the safe, non-judgmental environment we create together, I can support you to reconnect with yourself, listening to parts of yourself that may have become more quiet over time. My role is non-diagnostic and non-labelling.
Relational Support

Many of our problems are relational in nature and together we can uncover how you respond to and navigate relationships, what relational patterns or challenges may be at play, and work on new ways to relate to yourself and others.
Holistic care & the Mind-body Connection

Together we can discover how your emotional experiences are embodied and use practical strategies to help you take back control.
Tailored Support

I do not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to counselling and together we can explore what specific combination of factors work best to support your in our sessions.
All taken together I can help with...
Anxiety
Depression
Relationship difficulties
Identity challenges
LGBTQ+ Challenges
Self-esteem challenges
Stress
Trauma
Adverse childhood experiences
Loss
Bereavement
Work-related challenges
Among many more...
But what do I know? (My qualifications and experience)
I achieved a First Class Integrated Masters Degree in Psychology and Counselling from Birmingham City University where I studied for four years. This course contained a year-long placement that ran alongside rigorous study that prepared me through hands on experience for working with many presentations including anxiety, depression, adverse-childhood experiences, self-esteem and identity difficulties including gender and sexuality, among so much more. Following this, I became an Individual Member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), evidencing my adherence to their high standard of counselling practice and my commitment to their ethical framework.
